Photographing handwriting
- Place the card or paper flat and photograph it from directly above.
- Use bright, indirect daylight and avoid shadows, flash glare and blurry images.
- Include the full message with a little space around it. Keep the original image rather than adding filters.
- Choose a short message for a small engraving area. Longer wording may need a larger design or a shorter extract.
Can you use faded writing or an old card?
Often we can prepare writing from an old card or note, but suitability depends on how clearly the individual strokes remain visible. Send the image before ordering if the writing is faded, damaged or overlaps a patterned background.
Handwriting or typed text?
Choose handwriting engraving when you want the original writing reproduced. Choose a text option when you want to type a name, date or message in an available font. Check the individual product options for the engraving choices offered.
Uploading and ordering
Select your jewellery and check its available engraving options. Upload your image in the relevant field, enter any requested text and check your choices before adding the item to your basket. For designs with multiple charms or engraving areas, explain clearly which image belongs where. Options and additional charges are shown on the product page.
